REVIEWS 2022/23

“Just returned from a few days at this incredible site. It is just stunning. The care & attention that Lyndsay gave everyone staying was something else. She and mother nature have created a masterpiece”.

Chris Adkin (Tennis Wells Site - Grass Pitch)

“We spent 2 nights in the beautiful fully furnished bell tents. Well equipped & beautifully decorated. Our 2 boys were in heaven, no mention of wanting ipads, exploring the woods, paddleboarding/swimming in the reservoir, playing football, cricket in the fields, just 2 wild boys enjoying the space & freedom, they are already desperate to return!”.

Natalie Sheard (Tennis Wells Site - Bell Tents)

“I don’t normally leave reviews but I felt I had too. We’ve never camped anywhere with so much space & peace. The owner was super helpful, friendly & replied to my texts within minutes”.

Terri Cooper (Struttons Site - Grass Pitch)

“Just returned from an amazing few days camping here. The bell tent was beautiful & comfortable. Days were spent swimming, kayaking, SUPing, then watching the sunset, bats, and sunrise by our fire. Lyndsay was wonderful checking in on us, checking we had enough wood & listening to our boys tell her their adventures! We are sad to leave & will definitely return!”.

Sam Ross (The Roughs Site - Bell Tent)

“Fantastic couple of nights at Wild Combe Camping, The site is lovely, the reservoir only a 5 min walk away & was perfect for a swim. The team was super helpful and welcoming. Easy access to beautiful walks on the South Downs & a short walk to the lovely local pub. What more could you want?! Thank you”.

Aisling Chew (Tennis Wells Site - Grass Pitch)

“Such a stunning site! Fantastic location, beautiful countryside, we were welcomed & looked after throughout our stay whilst having privacy & space to ourselves. A little hidden secret which won’t stay like this for long!! It’s a must from us!

Simms Family (Tennis Wells Site - Grass Pitch)

“This is our 3rd year at Wild Combe, (family of 6!) We hired a bell tent for ease & brought a travel cot. The site is full of character & escapism from the busy world outside where you truly have the opportunity to disconnect. Our children escape into a world of make believe, hide & seek, bike riding, walks up to the beer garden, making friends & splashing about in the reservoir”.

Levens Family (Tennis Wells Site - Bell Tent)

This was our first trip to Wild Combe & will not be our last, beautiful countryside setting & although the water level was low (we were kept informed prior to our visit) we still had a wonderful time on the water. The stars are unbelievable, the best spot is under the oak tree! The owners were lovely, friendly, we saw them each day. We’re all looking forward to camping again’.

Sam Rance (Struttons Site - Grass Pitch)

“Wild Combe Camping is absolutely wonderful, rustic, back to basic camping. We hired the bell tent, it comes with proper beds, crockery, camping utensils, everything you need for your stay. There’s a wooden table & chairs outside for the family to dine on. Our friends booked the other bell tent, we put both tables together for a long one! I highly recommend families looking for a secret getaway where you can reground yourself with nature & beauty”.

We have 2 private reservoirs to swim & paddle board in, they are for the sole use of our campers.

Disclaimer : The water levels were extremely low for our 2022 season, however it didn’t stop the swimming & SUP use! They may or may not look like the photos at the time you camp with us.

Our site has three grass field pitch fields, (Tennis Wells, The Roughs and Struttons) that are accessed by car (parking next to pitch).

We have 3 Fully Furnished Bell Tents too, for those that just want to rock up!

Each site has portable loos & Bucket Showers, if you fancy a shower under dappled sunlight in the copse or under Oak trees!
Within the South Downs National Park, the campsite is situated just outside the village of Elsted, tucked away in quiet corner of West Sussex.

We have rubbish facilities, bins are clearly marked with household waste, bottles & paper recycling. Bins are situated on the Struttons site.

This is a 'wild' campsite with no electricity or running water (the only light will be from the moon, stars & the odd festoon lights, campers own!) there are 4 water bowsers - 2 for each site.

Dogs are more than welcome but please keep under control & on a lead.
The site is based within a family-run arable farm, there are lots of wild animals about if you’re quick enough to spot them! Deer, Heron’s, Hare’s, Kites & Buzzards to name a few.
